SU-PSEA Diversity Summit
Please join us as Shippensburg University Pennsylvania State Education Association (SU-PSEA) hosts our first annual Diversity Summit with Mr. Marvin Worthy. The theme for this year is diversity in the classroom.
Marvin G. Worthy, President and CEO, of Worthy Consulting & Training, LLC will be the conference presenter for The Diversity Summit. Marvin has been a been a national leader in diversity for approximately three decades. He travels the world spreading the message of diversity and community to colleges and universities, school districts, corporations, government agencies, and non profit organizations to increase cultural competency through awareness, understanding, and acceptance.
Marvin's interactive and facilitated training style will allow participants to become actively engaged. He maximizes group participation by utilizing real life situations, interactive activities, experimental exercises, and small group work.
As a result, The Diversity Summit conference participants will gain applicable skills, tools, and strategies necessary to manage a diverse community, workplace, and student population; to build meaningful multicultural relationships with faculty, staff and students; and to improve classroom interactions and campus climate.

Diversity Summit Facilitator

Shippensburg University Old Main Chapel
1871 Old Main Dr Shippensburg, PA 17257 Eastern PA: Please enter campus using the N. Prince Street entrance off of E. King Street . You will turn left onto Old Main Drive as soon as you see the big Shippensburg University sign. At the first road on your right (Gilbert Drive) turn right. The parking lot will be straight ahead of you and there will be people directing you. There will be red and blue balloons to guide you also. Western PA: Please enter campus using the Old Main Drive entrance off of N. Earl Street. You will make a right onto Old Main Drive when you see the columns across from the small diner. You will have driven past the tennis courts on our left. Once on Old Main Drive turn left on the first road you come to (Gilbert Drive). The parking lot will be straight ahead of you and there will be people directing you. There will be red and blue balloons to guide you also. |

Community OutreachOur outreach event is in the form of a supply drive for LeTort Elementary School in Carlisle, PA so we ask that supplies are brought to the conference and will be collected at check in. These supplies can a pack of crayons, a pack of pencils, a pack of dry erase board markers, or a notebook.
Supplies that were specifically asked for include:
Gift BasketsWe ask that visiting universities bring a gift basket related to diversity for a raffle at the end of the summit. For each gift basket, each person from the university club that brings a gift basket will receive one raffle ticket.

Additional TicketsWhen a club member from a visiting university donates one item (e.g. a pack of pencils), that club member will receive one additional raffle ticket to win a gift basket. When a club member donates two items, that club member will receive two raffle tickets and so on.
Two additional raffle tickets can be bought for $1.00 and five additional raffle tickets can be bought for $2.00. The money from the raffle ticket sales will be used to buy more school supplies for our LeTort Elementary School. Meal PlanningIf you have any dietary restrictions and cannot type in your restrictions in the designated field when you register, please email [email protected] with your restriction information and name by March 31, 2016. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
